Social Anxiety: Clinical trial

You may have access to an online program that has already proven successful in Australia.
How is the program structured?
- Program
Six lessons to follow at your own pace in 12 weeks; online self-guided or supported by your healthcare provider; the next lesson becomes available every 5 days. - Relevant storyline
In the form of a comic strip, you follow Matthew and Kate, who are exploring strategies to help them manage their symptoms of social anxiety. - Homework and complementary material
Lesson summaries, action plans, additional activities and information to facilitate learning and skills development.
Involvement
This research project takes place entirely online.
Participants will be asked :
- to fill out questionnaires when they enrol in the project,
- to do the programme in 12 weeks,
- to fill out questionnaires after the program and
- six months later.

Inclusion :
- 18 years old and over;
- Reading and writing in English or French;
- Having access to the Internet and a computer/tablet on which to access the intervention;
- Having social anxiety symptoms;
- If a healthcare provider recommended the intervention to you, living in the health administrative region of Montérégie or Chaudière-Appalaches.
Exclusion :
- Active suicidal risk;
- Severe symptoms of depression;
- Having received a diagnosis of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or active substance abuse disorder;
- Taking benzodiazepines;
- Having started a new psychotherapy in the last four weeks or a new medication in the last eight weeks for anxiety or depression.
